Call for Papers
The School of Banking and Finance at the Australian School of Business is pleased to launch the 2008 annual Australasian Finance and Banking Conference. In its 21st year, the conference is the most prestigious finance conference in the Asia-Pacific region, and brings together the world's foremost leaders of thought from the financial community.
Academics and practitioners are invited to attend and submit papers to the conference.
The conference will be held in Sydney from Tuesday 16 December - Thursday 18 December, 2008. Book these dates in your diary now to help celebrate the conference's milestone 21st birthday.

Submissions
Paper Submissions are now open. Please use the link to submit a paper to the 21st AFBC conference through the Social Science Research Network (SSRN).
Please Note: To be considered for any of the prizes below you must add a full page to the top of your submitted document naming the prize/s.
Deadlines
Paper submission (including consideration for prizes): Monday 25 August 2008.

Journals and Prizes for presented papers
- Journal of Banking and Finance
There will be a special issue of the Journal of Banking and Finance on 'Globalization, Financial Markets Integration and Financial Services'. Authors of pre-selected papers will be advised to send their manuscripts for review with a submission fee to the JBF editorial office.
- Journal of Financial Stability
There will be a special issue of the Journal of Financial Stability on 'Markets and Institutions: Global Financial Stability'. Authors who are pre-selected will be notified of the appropriate procedure for inclusion.
- Barclay's Global Investors Australia Prize
A $10,000 prize for the best paper on Capital Markets/Funds Management/Mutual Funds with a focus on the Asia-Pacific Region.
- BankScope Prize
A $2,500 prize for the best paper in Banking. Authors whose institutions subscribe to BankScope data are eligible.
- Sirca Research Prize
A $2,500 prize for the best paper which has used SIRCA Data (this includes ASX, SFE, Reuters, Morningstar and Aspect Financial Data).
Note: Use of SIRCA Data must be acknowledged in the paper.
- Australian Securities Exchange Prize
A prize for the best paper on Derivatives/Quantitative Finance.
